Not long ago...

Not long ago but from the first day of 2020 we all watched the news on television: people screaming from their apartments in a town named Wuhan in China. Several things happened then. People got sick and some died. Doctors were fighting a new virus that was later named Covid-19, and some of them also died.

Somehow, we do not know how, perhaps because people move from one place to another, we stopped seeing those people in the news and this disease became part of our daily life.

People behave in many ways and different things happen to them. Some get sick, others do not. Some die, others survive. Some have exemplary behavior; other ones have no appreciation for life.

Resting a little bit

I went down to the living room using those pink stairs that resemble stones. There was nobody in the house. Like those years when the family used to go out… to buy something, to eat in some place or only to go because they wanted to leave.

The man on the street

The man on the street lives and sleeps. He sees sights with beautiful sunrises and sunsets. He does not worry if Earth’s rotation is the origin of day and night cycle. The man on the street spends his life through the years: Holydays and cold during the winter; the spring so full of flowers and hopes; the summer of the vacations; and the autumn plenty of leaves fall and calm. He does not think about the Earth’s translation around the Sun or about the inclination of the terrestrial axis.

The man on the street walks and sometimes he falls ill (although some of humans’ epidemics have happened every 11 years, he does not know that the solar cycle of 11 years as well).

The doctor of the mothers

Many countries celebrate mother’s day in different dates. I would like to remember a scientist who is deeply linked to the mother’s well-being. The Hungarian doctor, Ignaz Semmelweis.
